India: Thousands queue in front of a recruitment centre for jobs in Israel

Thousands of construction workers and labourers in India queued in front of a recruitment centre to apply for jobs in Israel. The eligibility screenings began in the city of Lucknow in the country’s most populous state, Uttar Pradesh, on 23 January. Israel is facing a labour shortage after barring around 80,000 Palestinian workers from entering Israel following the Hamas-led attack on 7 October.
