Battle Of The Mops (1967)

London. Various shots show a group of businessmen sitting around a table as they are shown the latest model in floor mops; commentator tells us they are advertising men. One of the men makes a phone call; we see a man at a hotel reception answer the call and make notes. A press reception is held at the hotel to demonstrate the wonders of this new mop; chefs are seen preparing trays of cream cakes and set them on a lino floor in the hotel suite. Then a group of children are brought in, dressed in sacks and wearing knotted hankies on their heads. They have a huge food fight, then the messy floor is cleaned with the mop, as the press make notes and take photographs. Note: the floor mop company logo ’Plysu’ is clearly seen in several shots. Cuts exist - see separate record. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. IT’S FULL OF GREAT DOCUMENTARIES, FASCINATING INTERVIEWS, AND CLASSIC MOVIES.
