The man with the flag and a group of companions ride in line across the River Tweed. A large crowd are gathered on the banks to watch this ancient Borders ceremony. The initial group are followed by more riders including quite a few children on ponies.
General Sir Walter Maxwell Scott, Lady Scott and others stand outside Abbotsford House, once the residence of Sir Walter Scott. They walk away from the doorway. Drinks and food are handed out to the people on their horses.
