Patland Cup Motor Cycle Reliability Trial (1932)

Irish motorcyclists test out their machines over very boggy ground. Full title reads: “Patland Cup Motor Cycle Reliability Trial - run over the Featherbed mountain provided no such comfort, but it certainly was ’soft’.“ Republic of Ireland, Eire, Southern Ireland. Motorcyclist rides bike (No. 9) through boggy land, he rides through a shallow puddle. A few people look on. The ground is muddy and rough, he has to use his feet to stay upright. Rider (No. 17) rides through large puddle. More people are watching here - they are all wrapped up against the cold. Rider (No. 12) powers away from the camera over very cut up ground. Rider (No. 8) goes away from camera - he has real trouble staying on and eventually falls off.
