Bad Dogs - Good Dogs (1967)

Brighton, East Sussex. M/S of a postman walking up the path to a country cottage; a dog runs out from a shed and attacks the postman - rather half-heartedly! Several scenes at the National Canine Defence League show dogs being trained. A well-trained black dog refuses to take a biscuit from a girl in a plastic mac; when his owner appears and takes the biscuit, the dog eats it. The same dog picks up an egg from a basket on the ground and hands it to his owner intact. Other dogs are shown a rather tense fluffy ginger cat so they can get used to being around felines. An Alsatian dog attacks a ’burglar’ as he sneaks from a house. The well-trained black dog crosses the road on his own, waiting for a van to pass before he does so. Note: on file is a letter from the Canine Defence League confirming the filming of this story. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
