Full title reads: “Blackpool. The Pageant of Progress. and 18 of Britain’s cotton girls acclaimed by thousands of holiday makers.“ Blackpool, Lancashire. Parade of floats along the seafront at Blackpool. Various floats and people in fancy dress costumes come past. Many of the floats have a historic message, showing progress through the ages. Some floats show changes in the textile / cotton industry. Beauty Queens from towns like Preston, Manchester and Liverpool are carried in rickshaws (presumably the ’Cotton Girls’ of the title).
