Safe - Sound & Serene! (1932)

Full title reads: “Italy. Safe - Sound & Serene! After the most amazing air adventure ever - in his stratosphere balloon, Professor Piccard & Dr. Cosyns descend near Lake Garda.“ Lake Garda, Italy. Professor Auguste Piccard (wearing a beret) stands with others in front of hanger. Piccard with another, presumably Dr Max Cosyns, go over to inspect the gondola of their balloon. Piccard climbs in. C/U Piccard poking his head out of the gondola. Piccard stands with others (I think one of them is Marshal Italo Balbo the Italian Air Minister), he appear to be giving an interview. He pats down his somewhat wayward hair. Piccard, Cosyns and others on the balcony of his hotel building. They walk into the building. (All of the pictures here are contained in ’10 1/2 Miles Above the earth’ - version 2 - which is mute, but has shots of the balloon. For best version of Piccard’s flight probably best to combine Version 1 of the story from 32/67 with this one) FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ
