Padre Antonio Soler - Fanfarria Imperial (The Emperor’s Fanfare, organ)

In the video you can hear the Emperor’s Fanfare (Fanfarria Imperial) by Padre Antonio Soler, Spanish composer and organist, born in Olot in 1729 and died in San Lorenzo de El Escorial in 1783. Remarkable was his contribution to the organ and harpsichord repertoire and his works can be safely put between the late Baroque and early classicism. Very important are his keyboard sonatas, which earned him the title of El diablo vestido de frail (Devil dressed as a monk), often compared and matched to those by Domenico Scarlatti, his teacher, which influenced his style though father Soler sonatas are in three or four movements, unlike those by Scarlatti with one or two movements.
