This is the third Gnossienne by Erik Satie. The six Gnossiene have an equally strange title, suggesting the mysterious world of Minoan Crete, with its palace and labyrinth at Cnossos. The first three of these pieces were written in 1890. Something of Satie´s eccentrcity is shown in the directions to the performer and the lack of bar-lines.
