Beginner Rafter Layout | Speed Square | Common Rafter

Today we are tackling a big beginner lesson, which is common rafter layout and cutting. Common rafters are the most ’common’ type of rafter in construction, therefore, it’s the best place to start when you are learning roof framing. Without a doubt, the framing square is the best tool for rafter layout, but I thought it would be good to show that it can also be done using a speed square.
