Russia Captures Two Villages Near Avdiivka; Kyiv’s Drone Kills 3 In Belgorod; Blast In Zaporizhzhia

Russian forces are advancing west and northwest of Avdiivka in Donetsk Oblast, having captured the villages of Stepove and Sieverne after Lastochkyne. Ukraine pulled its troops from the destroyed Donetsk city of Avdiivka, northwest of the regional capital, Donetsk City, after more than four months of bitter fighting earlier in February. It was the first major victory for Russia since it captured the Donetsk city of Bakhmut after a long assault in May 2023. Meanwhile, an attack on Russia’s Belgorod Region has claimed the lives of three people and injured three others, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said. The governor added that a suicide drone was used to attack a car on the outskirts of a village in the region.
