Russell Crowe leads NRL promo video for Las Vegas matches
The voice of Hollywood actor Russell Crowe has been used to help draw more Americans to the game of rugby league ahead of the NRL’s foray into the US next month.
Crowe, 59, narrated a five-minute video which comprehensively explains the critical rules of rugby league to allow American sport fans to get a grasp on how the game works.
The Academy Award-winning actor for his role as Maximus Decimus Meridius in Gladiator is one of Australia’s most notable exports and will be a familiar face to American audiences.
The Manly Sea Eagles face off against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, the club co-owned by Crowe, before a clash between the Sydney Roosters and Brisbane Broncos in a double-header at Las Vegas’ 65,000-seat Allegiant Stadium on March 3.
The Manly-Souths game will take place at local time and AEDT while the Roosters-Broncos match begins at local time and AEDT.
