I Took an Autonomous Taxi in China (But is it SAFE?) 你敢坐吗?

I went to the city of Guangzhou, in Guangdong Province, to hail an autonomous, driverless robotaxi. Driverless vehicles have become a common sight in Guangzhou, and it’s one of the best places to experience being in a driverless car whilst riding through traffic. I’ve previously taken a ride on an autonomous bus run, part of the WeRide fleet, also in Guangzhou. But I’ve never been in a driverless taxi. The autonomous taxi I hailed was part of the Baidu Apollo fleet, and the model that turned up was a Hongqi E-HS3 model! I’ve also never been inside a Hongqi car before, so this was a double first for me! What happened when a bus pulled out on us? And what happened when another car cut us up at the traffic lights? And what happened when I arrived at my destination, which also happened to be the site of China’s SPACE BREEDING PROGRAM! So, would you take an autonomous taxi as part of your everyday commute? Do you think they’re safe? Let me know down below. And if you want to find out how other kinds of autonomous vehicles get on in China’s traffic, check out my video on Bio Island, an island built by China in the Pearl River that is full of autonomous vehicles: Thanks for watching, stay safe and keep looking after one another. #autonomousvehicles #selfdriving #hongqi ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MUSIC: Music: Synthiemania by Frank Schroeter Free download: Licensed under CC BY 4.0: Music: Ascending To Excellence [Full version] by MusicLFiles Free download: Licensed under CC BY 4.0: Music: Synthwave 1 by Frank Schroeter Free download: Licensed under CC BY 4.0: Music: Wipe Out by Arti The A.I. & Sascha Free download: Licensed under CC BY 4.0: Music: Tiptoes And Falling by Tim Kulig Free download: Licensed under CC BY 4.0:
