The song acts as the theme to the third film of the Rebuild of Evangelion movie series, EVANGELION:3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO. In September 2016 was released a new official music video for Sakura Nagashi. The music video was produced by Studio Khara, directed by Hibiki Yoshizaki and features cuts that were not used in the original film. The full length video [4:51 min] was uploaded to Utada’s YouTube channel on September 19, 2016, and remained there for 24 hours before being replaced by a shortened version.“
