Originally from Taiwan, I moved to Canada to pursue a career in animation and have been in the industry for six years. I have always liked figure skating, but after I saw the Japanese Anime “Yuri on Ice,” I started to go deeper into all the different elements in a skating program. That was also the time when Mao Asada caught my interest, and through her story, I started to know more about Yuna Kim. I find them both inspiring in different ways. At some point when I was listening to this song “On My Own” from Tokyo Ghoul’s Soundtrack, I thought it probably could work as a skating program and somehow decided to mash Mao and Yuna’s program together and see if it works. And then, combining everything with what I learned throughout the years with different people, it turned into this.” Follow Beatrice on social media: Instagram ▶ _______________________________________________________ Mercury Animated Shorts Mercury Shorts is a new endeavor by Mercury Filmworks, providing our artists with the opportunity to work closely with our development team to create their own animated short utilizing the support and development of our studio.
