This is how I make a metal square tubing fence post top cap ball knob - MIG Welding Project. This is the end post on the fence and I wanted the post to stand out from the others. You see how I mark it out, and you can see the angle grinder cuts I make, then getting it ready for welding. You see the sequence of my tac welds, (Others may do this differently which is fine, we are both just after the end project, and there is always more than one way to do things). You may want to smooth over the corners on your project if people are going to touch it or it may get hit and chipped, if the top of the post is up out of the way I think the sharper corners look better. I am using 100 mm square tubing 3 mm thick, for this project Main tools used, a MIG welder, angle grinder, drill, and a bench vise. Always use all the correct safety gear, and use your tools safely, I am not a good role model for this. Hope you found something of use in my video or at least found it entertaining.
