An installation of clothed mannequins suspended above a walkway named ’Renascimento’ opened at the Museum Casa das Rosas in Sao Paulo on Saturday.
The work was created by artist Siron Franco and is in honour of those who died from COVID-19 over the course of the pandemic.
Visitors on the exhibit’s inaugural day were impressed by the artwork. “I found this exhibition about COVID super impactful, mainly because it is at this elevation, which shows well and that we have to look up and be inspired and reborn if possible,“ explained attendee Vera while standing beneath the mannequins.
365 mannequins of varying sizes are dressed in colourful attire and are hung by the artist six metres (20 feet) above the ground. The exhibit runs from January 15 until March 20.
