A number of earthquakes have hit Alaska in the USA, as well as Cyprus and Haiti on the morning of January 11th 2021. A 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit Cyprus in the early hours of the morning, with tremors being felt throughout the country, as well as in Greece and Turkey. The earthquake was measured at a depth of 2 kilometers, with the epicentre measured off the west coast of the island. Residents took to the street as houses shook, waking citizens. In Alaska, tsunami warning systems were triggered by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake, which near Nikolski, again in the early hours of the morning. The earthquake was a depth of 22.3 kilometers, with residents feeling the impact in their homes. A secondary earthquake measuring 6.7 magnitude was also reported, causing further concern. In addition to these larger earthquakes, two smaller earthquakes measuring over 4.2 magnitude hit Haiti. Little information is currently available on the impact of these earthquakes.
