PHP 8.1 is scheduled to be released near the end of 2021, and it’s shaping up to be another fantastic release. You can look forward to a variety of useful features ranging from constructor initializers, to read-only class properties, to enum support.
So if you have ten minutes to spare, grab a cup of coffee and I’ll show you five of the features that I’m particularly looking forward to. We’ll of course cover more of what’s new in PHP 8.1 as we get closer to the release date, but these five should get you up to speed.
