When two giants of French music meet, something wonderful is bound to happen..... In 1973 Charles Aznavour wrote a song, which would become one of his biggest hits internationally : “Les plaisirs démodés“ which soon was translated as “Dance in the old fashioned way“. The melody, soft and romantic, was picked up by many pop orchestras, among them maybe the “best and biggest of them all“ : Le Grand Orchestre de Franck Pourcel.
Monsieur Pourcel delivers a fabulous, dreamy version of this Aznavour “classic“ and there is no doubt that his orchestral rendition is a classic as well, be it in the easy listening and orchestral branch. This music, maybe “helped“ a bit by the video images :), will have you ’dreaming away’ and might bring you in “another world“ ....... at least for a couple of minutes ;-)
