Shogun Assassin (trailer)

Cool and extremely bloody 1980 samurai revenge film that was just one of many of the genre (“Lady Snowbird“ being a significant another) that inspired Tarantino to take a stab (get it?) at his own twist with his recent “Kill Bill“ saga. “Shogun Assassin“ is actually a cut-and-paste combination of two 1972 films in the “Lone Wolf and Cub“ series - the producer just decided to take the best sequences from those two films and add new music and narration. Hey, it works just fine for me because this shit rocks. Trivia: Mark Lindsay - the former lead singer for late-60’s to early-70’s AM radio wonders Paul Revere and the Raiders - did the electronic score for the movie, and Sandra Bernhard (!) reportedly was involved in the English dub voiceover work.
