Seven years after the debut, comes the first album of these Swedish maniacs.
Portrayed as Wermlandian Black Metal by its makers, this second record keeps this act through a similar path as before. It is a black metal vigorously dynamic and able to travel from faster and aggressive sections to softer and slightly atmospheric ones (fewer than their counterpart) with complete ease and without feeling out of place. Of course, these transitions become, on this record, more rich as the songwriting evolved into a more embroidered one, without actually becoming more harmonious. In that sense, it retained a similar stance as before.
Another clear evolution is the bass work and even the guitar that gained another layer of melody. But if I have to choose where it evolved the most, it would be the drumming that brought a new life to this act, and the many ravenous sections of their songs overflow with incommensurable aggression but adding fine percussive details.
A magnificent comeback!
