With over 120 compilations under their belts and dozens of parties worldwide every weekend, Hed Kandi, founded in 1999 by Mark Doyle shows no sign of losing any of its shine. Originally from the UK under the Jazz FM umbrella, Doyle was enlisted to widen Jazz FM’s reach. Current label leader Phil Faversham talks to DJsounds about what Hed Kandi stands for in 2010 and how the vibe has changed as they have moved round the island from their original home of El Divino to Space in 2009 and their current home of Es Paradis. He also reveals what makes the parties so special and why they don’t rely on big DJs.
