Mushroom Fairy House 4 in 1 DIY Ideas Using Cardboard, Plastic Bottle, Paper & Clay

Let’s make 4 in 1 mushroom fairy house project using cardboard, plastic bottle, used paper and clay. It is 4 in 1 because we can use this craft as wall décor, night lights/ wall lamp, planter, and pencil holder. Firstly, I make a rectangular panel with cardboard. You’ll see that I use jute to hang this craft like hanging a picture frame. Then, I cut plastic bottle for the house. Make sure that you have enough space to put in LED candle light inside the house after you paste this part to the cardboard. Cut the cardboard at the back of the house to insert the light. Next, I use paper and masking tapes to form the mushroom head shape for the roof and the thin mushroom too. You can use tin foil if it is easier for you. I also use paper to form the tree stump as the base of the house. Before adding paper for tree stump, I add cardboard tube and cut the hole on it to insert mini plastic bottle that will be used as planter later on. I add a piece of cardboard at the bottom part of the tree stump to make it flat, so the panel can stand on the table by itself. After all the shape set up, I apply thick texture paste at the bottom part of the cardboard and tree stump and let it dry. This way, I have stabile/ strong base. I use texture paste recipe with adjusted amount of water. Basic ingredients are the same: plaster of Paris, flour, and water (plaster 3 parts, flour 1 part). You can use normal plaster/ gypsum/ joint compound or white cement if you don’t have plaster of paris. It works the same for me. I have adjusted the level of water to get the right consistency to make soft clay paste where I can spread it easily and then reduce the amount of water to have harder clay that looks like store bought air dry clay. Link to texture paste video: As for the cardboard panel, I apply ready-made wall filler, something like spackle paste/ joint compound. Anyway, you can cover your tree stump, mushroom and cardboard panel straight away with store bought air dry clay if you like.
