Pentagon Press Briefing | Deputy Sabrina Singh Press Briefs Arlington Cemetry Controversy | N18G Pentagon defends Arlington National Cemetery employee in Trump campaign incident. During a Thursday (August 29) press briefing, Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh affirmed the Pentagon’s support for an Arlington National Cemetery employee who was pushed aside during former President Donald Trump’s visit. Singh emphasized that the employee acted with professionalism and upheld proper decorum. Trump, the Republican nominee for the upcoming November 5 presidential election, visited the cemetery on Monday (August 26), to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony honoring the 13 servicemembers killed during the 2021 U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. He also visited Section 60, a revered area where fallen troops are buried. Though federal law and Pentagon policies prohibit political activities in that section of the cemetery, videos from the visit were used in campaign advertisements.
