GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Hurricanes () | Seven Points in Two Games For Crosby

Tuesday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Carolina Hurricanes. This was the fourth and final matchup between these two clubs this season. The 1st period was silent from both teams. Part-way into the 2nd, Lars Eller skated the puck into the Carolina zone and dropped it back for Jesse Puljujarvi. Seeing Ryan Graves screening the goalie, Puljujarvi shot and scored taking the lead for the Penguins. The Hurricanes tied it up with a goal from Dmitry Orlov. Late in the 2nd, Sidney Crosby won the offensive zone faceoff back to Bryan Rust waiting behind him. In one smooth motion, Rust collected the puck and fired it into the net beating the Hurricane goalie. The Penguins held a 2-1 lead to start the 3rd. With both teams picking up the pace and physicality, the 3rd period was fast and exciting. The Penguins held off the Hurricanes and added to their win with two empty net goals from Drew O’Connor and Crosby. The Penguins won with a final score of 4-1.
