DMITRY BIVOL (RUSSIA) vs ISAAC CHILEMBA (MALAWI) FIGHT!

How are you doing guys? Thanks for joining me in this video. So we have just seen Dmitry Bivol go up against Isaac Chilemba to defend his WBA World Light heavyweight title in Atlantic City. So Bivol came away with a comfortable win against Chilemba. In this fight, I could tell you a few things that Bivol did to improve his chances for success. He presented an active lead hand to confuse and distract his opponent. He constantly feinted before his attacks. Bivol also targeted both the head and body in combination and single punches. Now, in addition to this Bivol used the pendulum step to vary distance throughout the fight and surprise his opponents with his aggression but if you pay attention he doesn’t use it all the time. Essentially, it’s a skill he uses to segment his line of attacks so he’s not doing the same thing all the time. Now let’s shift our focus to the cancelled fight between Bivol and Beterbiev. This fight can be renegotiated for around the end of the year but it will depend on 2 things; Beterbiev recovering from his meniscus injury and Bivol defeating his next opponent. It’s already been confirmed that Bivol will fight Libyan fighter Malik Zinad, so to compare and contrast briefly: Zinad has fought in numerous countries around the world in his last 2 fights he beat two undefeated opponents. It must be stated he has never been involved in a major world title. So this Bivol fight presents his biggest challenge to date. He does however have a higher knockout ratio to Bivol. Similar height and age They have the same orthodox stance They both have fought 22 times and won 22 times They have been fighting as Pros for around the same length of time Bivol just shy of 10 years and Zinad 9. Both have only been active within the light-heavyweight division so no advantages should be present due to weight. With all of this in mind, I don’t think we can expect Bivol to have too many issues in this fight. The level of quality that both fighters have experienced is disproportionate. A significant number of Zinad’s opponents have been journeymen and Zinad has never fought on the big stage. So in my opinion I believe this fight between Bivol and Zinad on Saturday, June 1st at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia will result in a Bivol victory.
