US lawmakers call on SA to be sidelined from hosting the 2023 AGOA Forum
Following a recent U.S. Congress debate on the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act, Some lawmakers, both Democrat and Republican agreed that South Africa must be sidelined from hosting this year’s AGOA Forum.
The lawmakers have since written to President Joe Biden to ratify the Congress proposal.
They base their argument on Pretoria’s non-aligned stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict and perceived support for Moscow.
