Australian Beetles Walk on the Underside of Water’s Surface

Researchers John Gould and Jose Valdez filmed an Australian water beetle that walks on the underside of the water’s surface. Their new paper in Ethology details how this water scavenging beetle is able to carry out this rare form of locomotion. Video has been cropped to focus on the beetle’s movements.
