The war in Ukraine consists of at least three interlinking conflicts and can not be resolved without de-escalating all of them says the ’father’ of modern conflict theory, Dr. Dr. Friedrich Glasl. In his analysis he shows how to best conceptualise the intricate net of conflicts that are raging in and around Ukraine. Dr. Glasl was born in Vienna, in 1941. He dedicated his academic work to researching conflicts and organisational systems getting his PhD in international conflict prevention in 1967. Later he ventured into the field of economics and management theory, building up his own management consultancy in which he applied his theory to improve companies and help them manage conflicts.
