Brazil’s Lula DEFENDS Assange At The United Nations

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva used his speech before the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to call for freedom for WikiLeaks leader Julian Assange. Assange was indicted in 2019 on espionage charges over publishing classified materials through his WikiLeaks platform. He is being held at Belmarsh Prison in England while awaiting potential extradition to the United States.
