The Fila Fresh Crew - Drink It Up

This is a track from the DOC’s group from his days in Dallas, the Fila Fresh Crew, when he was still known as Doc T. It was released on their album “Tuffest Man Alive“ and on Dr. Dre/.’s compilation album “. and the Posse“, both in 1987 under the Macola record label. As many may hear, Drink It Up samples “Twist and Shout“ (1962) by the Isley Brothers, which in turn is a cover of Twist and Shout by The Top Notes. The track also samples Richard Pryor’s “Wino dealing with Dracula“ from the stand-up album “That Nigger’s Crazy“, released in 1974. Enjoy!
