Castle Rock & Granite Skywalk - Porongurup - S02 - Western Australia - E31 - Big Lap of Australia

Todays adventure on our trip around Australia takes us to PORONGORUP NATIONAL PARK in Western Australia to explore Castle Rock and climb the Granite Skywalk. We walk from the Carpark is a one way trail that heads up the hill towards Castle Rock. This walk took us around 45mins and was made more magical by the spectacular Karri Forest. As you reach the base of Castle Rock, we found the fascinating Balancing Rock, a giant round boulder that looks to be defying gravity as it perches on top of another granite slope, explored a lookout for some awesome views, before we performed some rock scrambling over some granite boulders, using grab handles that have been bolted into the granite to assist your climb. Finally you make it to a 6m ladder that takes you up to the skywalk. The Granite Skywalk, first opened in 2012 and is an amazing steel structure that winds its way around the massive granite dome, providing some awesome panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. This is definitely not for those who have a fear of heights. The boardwalk is only 1m wide and it feels like there is not much holding you up there. But once you get use to it, the views are amazing. Thank you to all those who have liked and subscribed and we look forward to sharing our future adventures with you.
