Stratostar Launch - Full Flight

Carnegie Science Center launched a weather balloon to the edge of space! During pre-game activities at the Pittsburgh Pirates game on Oct. 4, 2015, Science Center and Stratostar staff launched the high altitude, helium-field balloon from the field. Then, the team tracked its journey, measuring temperature, altitude, speed, and spin rate. Very special passengers onboard were a plush Pirate Parrot and a Pittsburgh Pirates flag.
