KvS Part 1 - Opening Arguments The scene is set--a DJ battle of epic proportions to decide who is king of the DJs. East vs West, Experimental vs Classic, Krush vs Shadow. Krush kicks it off, but Shadow quickly puts forth the argument for his supremacy, brashly showcasing his mastery. Bearing down hard, he gives no quarter. Krush waits patiently, then seamlessly picks up the mood as soon as Shadow hits a lull, with staggering musical jiu-jitsu. He then responds with controlled fury, demonstrating that both sound and silence are equally his weapons in this battle. Western brashness and swagger meets Eastern focus and intensity. Krush finishes his argument as he began it--with reflectiveness. Shadow pulls out all the stops in his rebuttal with intensity and harmonious beauty, to which Krush cooly responds with the stunning ambiance of Zen quietude. 1.
