Organic Escapement #6

This escapement-mechanism has a double pivot with a connecting linkage which results in a kind of push-push grasshopper escapement. A little stone of 110 g gives energy to the pendulum by slowly falling down over 1,7 m with a pulley system which will take exaclty one hour. Each spike of the escapement alternately escapes when the recoil on the scapewheel, caused by the pendulum, pushes the scapewheel back over 2 degrees at the other spike. Then the pull of the string locks the pushing spike so that the pendulum can be impulsed harmoniously to it’s movement until it is released again by the other spike. Little magnets are hidden in the spikes for releasing the spikes and reset them. This ensures that the spikes will engage at the next tooth of the escapement.
