‘Lost spectacularly’: UK Conservative Party losing ‘hundreds of seats’ to Labour Party

Writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue says the United Kingdom Labour Party has “gained well over 300 seats” in local elections. Ms Krakue said the Tories “lost spectacularly” losing “hundreds of seats”. “In many areas, many sorts of Tory strongholds, the Labour Party actually gained a lot of those councillor seats. “They actually lost a lot of Muslim majority or areas with significant Muslim communities and that was mainly over the vote for Gaza. “It’s actually showing in many parts of the country the split isn’t based on actual policy or how politicians’ actions are affecting their lives, they’re more symbolic votes.”
