There were a few lyrics that I really didn’t care for and debated weather I should change them or just forgo covering the song all together. I’ve been known to get some flack in the past for changing, omitting, and even adding lyrics when covering songs. I don’t usually condone censorship for the sake of “protecting” the eyes and ears of children or the overly sensitive; however, there are certain words that I don’t think should ever be used as their use is intended to be derogatory. This particular song contained a few problematic sentiments that I decided to alter. I did my best to keep the storyline intact while still making sure everything rhymed. I’m sure many Green Day fans will disagree with what I’ve done, but I believe the point of art is to create a conversation- and I have a feeling many people will have something to say about it!
