New York Times Honors “Celebrated” Neo-N@zi Ukrainian POWs
A prisoner of war exchange between Russia and Ukraine recently took place, and the New York Times covered the event by describing many of the Ukrainian POWs as members of the “celebrated” Azov Battalion. Azov is, as anyone paying attention knows, a militia filled with neo-Nazis that has been responsible for atrocities both prior to and during the war. But they’re on the side of the “good guys,” so to the New York Times they can be described as “celebrated.
Jimmy and his panel of Pushback host Aaron Maté () and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss Azov’s checkered history and attempts to whitewash the group’s ugly history in service of the war effort.
