Having kits outside your clan is against the warrior code. Mapleshade plans on telling the truth someday, but well lying is easier. So Mapleshade lies about the father. Her secret however is reviled by the clans medicine cat, Ravenwing. No one stands up for Mapleshade and she promptly is exiled. After her kits died horribly in a tragic accident trying to transport them to Appledusk, the father who lives in a rival clan. Appledusk has a new mate now and she is already pregnant with his kits. Appledusk blames her for her kits death and refuses to help her. Mapleshade then swears vengeance on everyone who betrayed her. In
