When you see someone’s very earnest, heartfelt longing for a true connection with a true love, and never getting that connection, it evokes a lot of emotions. When you have that beauty and that innocence and it’s juxtaposed against all of this thrashing, horrible stuff, it’s cathartic for an artist.
