During her visit to the National Maritime Museum in May 2003, Queen Elizabeth II met an excitable young boy who clearly couldn’t believe his eyes. “Are you the Queen?“ he asked wide-eyed. “Yes,“ replied the monarch. In his giddiness he tapped the Queen on the arm and repeated his question, clearly unable to process the first answer. “Yes“ came the Queen’s reply, this time a little more curtly. He then proceeded to show the Queen the contents of a box, his adorable enthusiasm and eagerness to reveal its wonders sending royal protocol out the window.
