“Somethin’ Stupid“ was written by C. Carson Parks and originally recorded in 1966 by Parks and his wife, Gaile Foote, as Carson and Gaile. Frank Sinatra played Parks’ recording to Nancy Sinatra’s then producer, Lee Hazelwood, who recalled, “He asked me, ’Do you like it?’, and I said, ’I love it, and if you don’t sing it with Nancy, I will.’ Frank said, ’We’re gonna do it, book a studio.’ Frank and Nancy’s version was recorded on February 1, 1967; Lee Hazelwood and Jimmy Bowen were listed as producers with the arrangement by Billy Strange. “Somethin’ Stupid“ reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on April 15, 1967 and remained No.1 for four weeks. The song also appeared on Frank Sinatra’s 1967 album, The World We Knew.
