Snores of Freedom- How Rescued Elephants Sleep

The snores of our beloved elephants at #WildlifeSOS echo all around as they sleep comfortably in their enclosures. Our Education and Conservation Officer, Shivam Rai, takes us on a walk around the enclosures while our rescued elephants catch some Zs. It warms our hearts to see that they feel comfortable enough to sleep in our presence. Many a times, the newly rescued elephants do not lie down to sleep in the first few days due to the unfamiliar surroundings and change in their routine. However, over time, they come to trust their caregivers and the staff at Wildlife SOS and start sleeping through the whole night.  Many of the disabled elephants who cannot fully lie down are also made comfortable here with the help of mud piles, gunny bags and soft blankets!  We are really thankful to see them finally get a good night’s rest and hear their snores of freedom!
