It is a very mountainous country that has evolved a lot in recent years, especially since the Soviet period. This period contributed to its economic development but also to the decline of nomadism, a thousand-year-old way of life in the region. Aigul is part of this generation, she was born in the city but does not know the nomadic lifestyle. Many young people of her age are growing up in urban and modern environments, far from their grandparents’ history and culture. It is therefore, out of love for her own country, that Aigul always wanted to reconnect with her roots; particularly by promoting Kyrgyz culture through tourism. Indeed, Aigul is now a tour guide herself in Kyrgyzstan. It is also with this in mind, that she wanted to participate in this project; to rediscover a part of herself and to highlight the beauty and cultural identity of her country.
