Baltimore bridge collapse: search and rescue underway

A bridge in Baltimore has collapsed after a ship collided with it early on Tuesday, sending vehicles and people into the water and prompting the governor of Maryland to declare a state of emergency. At about local time a container ship hit one of the pillars of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, causing some 20 construction workers and three vehicles to fall into the water.
