KDE - Activities & Workspaces

on my blog more... Free music: Rise to Tomorrow - CBL KDE is fast, has a light CPU load and offers virtually everything a user could want from a bleeding edge, new computer desktop. It’s a solid operating system. It has a very nice recover system to prevent applications crashing your computer. The basis for this movie is a mixture of Linux Mint KDE 4.8 and Kubuntu . I also apply Razor desktop as a (Gnome) fall-back tool during my experiments. Gradually changing from X-server and its on-screen x-session management protocol to the new Wayland interface the KDE concept of “Activities“ gets more meaning. Workspaces as such are no Activities, although this seems confusing. Activities intend to “remember“ what applications for users do at a given time and how things look on-screen, whereas Workspaces would remember that on a given screen an application runs.
