Needless to say, 2022 was a wild year for news, moves, drama, and action. WWE saw Vince McMahon step down, Triple H step up, and a slight course correction for the creative. AEW came in hot and heavy but backstage issues and some inconsistent booking hurt them down the stretch. New Japan is still suffering from pandemic crowd limitations, bad contracts with foreign talent, and a bit of “we’ve seen this before“.
