A Jazz Symphony (Part 1)

This is the first part of George Antheil’s wonderful 1925 composition “A Jazz Symphony.“ It was originally to be preformed at Paul Whiteman’s Second Experiment in Modern Music (Rhapsody in Blue was preformed at the first) but it was not finished in time. As a result the piece was not preformed until 1927 at Antheil’s Carnegie Hall concert.
