Ink Transitions using only standard effects | After Effects Tutorial

In this After Effects Tutorial I’ll show you how to create realistic Ink transitions using ONLY standard effects! Download the project file here: Of course you could use footage of ink drops, the thing about footage is, you can’t really control a lot. So we create everything in after effects. In the first step we add a new solid, add a mask and form some kind of splash shape. Next, we animate the mask expansion. After that we need to work on the look and make it look more like ink. We use the turbulent noise effect to create textures for the edges and the shape itself. Then we use a displacement map and the layer style settings to make it look much more like real ink.
